Phoenix IMPACT is a unique fusion of Krav Maga and Jeet Kune Do Combative Concepts that get you into functional fighting fitness shape fast.
No Kids, No Rings, No Rules, No-Nonsense
Developed by close quarters combat specialists John Nottingham, Anthony Miles, Don Gray, and a staff of experienced law enforcement and military professionals, they combined their experience as trainers to give you the ability to quickly defend:
- Attacks with knives and edged weapons
- Assaults with clubs, sticks and bats
- Grabs, holds and pins
- Punches and various kicks
Krav Maga drills were developed by the Israeli Defense Forces for military response to counter-terrorism. They emphasize developing fighting spirit and a non-quitting attitude. Krav Maga, meaning "contact combat", is one of the most respected programs for training SWAT forces and the preferred civilian self defense option.
JKD Progressive Street Fighting Drills & Concepts
Jeet Kune Do concepts were synthesized by Bruce Lee and Dan Inosanto. The "aliveness", or freedom of variant application, and emphasis of functionality of the drills, make them uniquely efficient in developing individuals quickly for street self defense. It was an early system of mixing martial arts, but not to be mistaken for today's sportive MMA, this was mixed martial arts for the street.
JKD was further refined for street by Paul Vunak (PFS JKD). His methods were adopted for training by NAVY SEALS as part of their Special Warfare Hand To Hand and Hand to Weapons training. The training includes all four ranges of combat:
- Kicking
- Punching
- Clinching
- Grappling
Perhaps more important is the emphasis of moving seamlessly and rapidly through those ranges to gain an unfair advantage on an attacker. Jeet Kune Do does not hesitate to teach eye gouging, biting, and use of weapons or off-hand tools. Today the JeetKuneDo integrates Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Filipino Martial Arts, Kickboxing and continues to evolve.
